NEW SUNSYSTEMS SOLUTION TAKES THE HEADACHE OUT OF PAYROLL MANAGEMENT

Payroll is one of the more complicated and time-consuming tasks for financial and personnel departments, with information held between the two often different. A new software solution launched today for SunSystems will make the sharing of information easier across an organisation, thereby improving productivity.

SunSystems Payroll takes care of all financial activities connected with payroll and integrates directly with the SunSystems financial ledgers. As well as performing all calculations relating to pay, tax and pensions, SunSystems Payroll's personnel module monitors annual holiday, sickness and other statutory requirements. This is achieved through personal calendars giving an 'at a glance' view of an employee's movements. The module also enables tasks such as annually increased holiday entitlement to take place without user intervention.

SunSystems Payroll also contains an eSubmission utility, which has been accredited by the Inland Revenue, allowing all end-of-year payroll tasks to be automated, sending data quickly and securely through the Government Gateway to the Inland Revenue. This eliminates the possibility of human error through this labour-intensive task, freeing up finance departments to concentrate on other end of year activities.

Damian Traynor, global marketing director for SunSystems, said: "At the heart of SunSystems' philosophy is the provision of rich functionality and flexibility to customers. Payroll delivers these whilst empowering customers to be more productive and analyse information in a way that will help them manage one of the biggest single costs, generally, within an organisation.

"SunSystems Payroll represents a broadening of our financial and business management software suite. We've taken the experience gained through listening and working closely with our enterprise customers and applied it to the HR and personnel functions, achieving the same quality of results as every other functional area SunSystems touches."

Often payroll is split across multiple departments and applications, or outsourced making it time-consuming and expensive to gain intelligence from the data the organisation has. The SunSystems Payroll reporting tool uses standard and bespoke reports to turn data into information enabling managers to understand what is happening on the payroll from a financial and HR perspective.

SunSystems Payroll offers user-defined role and department structures with templates for employee types and entitlements, enabling the replication of the organisation structure. Users can add staff information in moments and perform updates affecting large numbers of employees quickly and easily.

SunSystems Payroll is platform independent and is also available in a standalone version, enabling any organisation to take full advantage of the rich functionality and benefit from managing payroll more effectively in-house.
